European Voices VI Symposium - Session with Computational Methods in Ethnomusicology
Ardian Ahmedaja invited me to chair the Session Performing and Perceiving Sound at the Singing, Song and Sound - European Voices VI. Symposium on Sep. 30th. The Session included talks from Rytis Ambrazevicius and Anastasiia Mazurenko. Both researchers apply computational methods (MIR, Statistical modelling, ..) to analyse particularities of regional vocal music in respectively Lithuania and the Ukraine.
After their presentations we had an inspiring discussion on computational methods in Ethnomusicology research. Specifically the discussion on data analysis and storage was very related to questions we address in our ASEA-Uninet project.
