Bachelor's Degree in double bass performance, 1991, magna cum laude, from the
Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. with philosophy, religion,
English and German emphasis.
Magister Artium 1999 in double bass performance from the University of Music
and Performing Arts, Vienna, Austria.

Activities
Thesis: Acoustical Studies on Double Bass Bridge Height Adjusters, May, 1999.
Listening tests and sound analysis established that wheel-and-axle bridge height
adjusters cause a significant difference in the sound of the bass compared to
the same bass and bridge with none. An international survey helped to define
current trends in adjuster use.
Consultation and assistance with stringed instrument projects and the
VIAS analysis system.
Documentation of Italian double basses in Austria, and general themes of lutherie.
Assistance with IWK publications in English.
